Hosted by the American Contemporary Ballet, the organization is proud to present one of their latest events, “Astaire Dances”. Fred Astaire is known as one of the best American dancers of all time as well as being regarded as one of the most influential dancers in the history of cinematic musicals. Held at the Mayan Theatre in Downtown LA, you’ll find a performance of Lucha VaVoom Valentine’s. At this exciting event you’ll be met with a night of lucha libra, a Mexican form of professional wrestingling known for the unique masks that the wrestlers wear. In addition to the wrestling, you can enjoy a professional comics doing stand up, as well as burlesque dancers in between rounds. It’s an exciting and unique event that you likely won’t find anywhere except LA.
February means that it’s nearly time for Mardi Gras! This year, come together for family friendly fun at the original Los Angeles Farmer’s Market. On February 10th and the 11th, enjoy festivities for the 29th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration. Additionally, there will be activities on Fat Tuesday, February 13th. During the festivities, you can enjoy New Orleans and Zydeco music, parade bands strolling around the premises of the market, bead throwing, activities for kids and much more! While the event starts at 9am, there will fun and festivities happening throughout the day. Enjoy a parade, live bands, special Louisiana food and more. Don’t forget to enjoy the Mutti Gras Pet Parade and Costume Contest that will be on February 10th at 12pm.
