The playboy jazz festival continues to be one of the best festivals for jazz as it brings together an all star lineup that does not disappoint! This year, the 2018 Playboy Jazz Festival will take place on June 9th and June 10th at the iconic Hollywood Bowl.

 

For a lover of jazz, the festival is certainly a must! Not only does the festival gather together some of the best talent in Jazz today, it also offers an excellent selection of new talent that you should be keeping an eye out on! This year, there will be a special performance of Tower of Power as they mark their 50th anniversary. For the past 50 years, Tower of Power continues to be one of the best horn sections in music today. Other performers at this year’s Jazz festival include Lee Ritenour & Dave Grusin, the Count Basie Orchestra which will be fronted by trumpeter Scotty Barnhart, as well as Charles Lloyd & the Marvels. Other members of this band include Greg Leisz, Julian Lage, Reuben Rogers and Eric Harland. The band will be joined by Lucinda Williams, American singer-songwriter. The Hollywood Bowl continues to be one of the most famous outdoor venues in Los Angeles. Opening in 1922, the venue has consistently been a location for famous entertainers to perform from The Beetles and Billie Holiday to Yo-Yo Ma.
