It’s true, it gets hot in the summer in Los Angeles. Don’t worry though, there are plenty of ways to beat the heat. If it’s a Tuesday, head to the best tacos tuesday to at least satisfy your hunger. On any other day, here are some ideas on how to keep cool during heat in Los Angeles.
Head To The Beaches
Did you know that located right by Venice Beach are the Venice Canals? This romantic getaway is a lovely place to go on a shaded stroll. The canals feature beautiful bridges over the canals as well as large, and beautiful homes all alongside the canals. It’s a great way to stay cool while also doing something different. If you want a classic beach experience, head to the nearby Santa Monica Pier. Enjoy the cool ocean breeze while you go on the only solar powered Ferris Wheel on the West Coast or cool off with an ice cream cone at one of the eateries located on the pier.
Is the sun too hot for you? No worries, head to the Getty, a fantastic art museum that also features incredible architecture and beautiful gardens. The Getty foundation actually includes two museums: The Getty Center located in Los Angeles and the Getty Villa, located north of Santa Monica near the coast. The Getty Center features European and American art from medieval times to the present while the Getty Villa features ancient art from the Stone Age to the end of the Roman Empire.
Cool Off Outdoors At Night
Once the sun begins to set, take a stroll through downtown at the DTLA Art Walk. This event takes place on the second Thursday of every month. At this event, local gallery and art spaces open up to the public for guests to enjoy the LA art scene. Additionally, arts and craft vendors line the streets to showcase their original and inventive art pieces.
