In November 2020, Shen Zhen New World I, LLC was charged with honest service mail and wire fraud; interstate and foreign travel in aid of racketeering; and bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds. On November 10, 2022, the company was convicted of the charged offenses. On May 12, 2023, the company was ordered to pay a fine of $4 million and placed on five years' probation with various terms and conditions. The company is appealing the conviction and sentence.
