Must-See Musicals in January- Los Angeles

Los Angeles has a strong theatre presence, which is great news for anyone who loves to watch plays and musicals and who is staying at hotels near Downtown Los Angeles. If you’re in the mood for a night of theater, here are some musicals to see in January.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s, The King and I is a classic musical that has won multiple Tony awards throughout the years. This beloved musical that tells the story of an English governess and her blossoming romance with the King of 19th Century Siam, is back at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. The musical has classic songs such Getting to Know You, Shall we Dance, and I Whistle a Happy Tune. Tickets for the King and I at the Pantages Theater start at only $60. The musical will be at the Pantages until January 21st.

Do you love classic Motown songs such “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “My Girl”? If so, then you are going to want to get tickets for Motown the Musical, coming to the Pantages Theatre from January 31st through February 12th. This crowd pleasing musical tells the story of of Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and other classic Motown artists came to the forefront of music through the help of Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown. The musical is recommended for children 10 and up, children under 5 are not permitted in the theatre.

The 20th Anniversary Tour of RENT is coming to the Pantages for a limited engagement only. RENT tells the story of an unforgettable year in the lives of friends trying to live out their dreams in New York. Since it’s arrival on the stage in 1996, RENT has continuously touched the lives of viewers over the years, reminding audiences to measure their life in the one thing matters – love. RENT: the 20th anniversary tour will be at the Pantages theatre from January 24th through January 29th. Don’t miss out on this limited engagement event.
