Best Beaches to Visit This Summer

With the hot summer months approaching, it is the perfect time to head to the beach! Perhaps nothing is more related to the Southern California lifestyle than hanging out all day at a small beach town and enjoying the waves. This summer, here are some of the best beaches near Downtown LA that you should visit during your stay.

Santa Monica Beach is one of the most well known beaches in the country and the pier is also one of the most visited attractions in all of Southern California. When you come down to Santa Monica Beach, you can spend the day soaking up the sun, catching some waves and of course, spending time on the pier. Along the pier you’ll find fun attractions, restaurants, shops and Pacific Park – a family friendly amusement park that is located right on the pier. Enjoy fun carnival games, rides and more! This summer, be sure to stop by Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Pier.

Venice beach is known for their boardwalk. Stretching a little over a mile in length, the Venice beach boardwalk is home to the art and grunge scene. Along the boardwalk you’ll also find a number of street vendors and local talent. Buy specialized, hand crafted items such as fine jewelry or art work and then stop by where a crowd has gathered to cheer on a street performer! The venice boardwalk is also home to muscle beach so be sure to check out the place where body builders come to work out.

Hermosa Beach is an excellent place to go if you’re looking to get away from the crowded streets of Los Angeles. Hermosa is known for their soft, sandy beaches and good sized waves that are great for surfing. If surfing isn’t your thing, consider bringing a volleyball as there are a number of nets in the area so you can enjoy a quick game. Walk down the pier, enjoy the sights and work on your tan as you relax this summer at Hermosa Beach.
