When it comes to downtown new years eve parties, there are plenty to choose from. Now that the New Year is over, it means that the Lunar New Year is just around the corner! Celebrate the year of the Pig with Lunar New Year events taking place throughout Los Angeles. Check out some of these lunar new year events, LA.
On January 26th, you and your family are invited to come down to Beverly Hills to celebrate the Lunar New Year, the year of the pig! This will be the 8th annual celebration of, “Happy Chinese New Year, Charming Jing-Jin-Ji”. Held in the Saban Theatre, enjoy 14 traditional acts of Chinese opera, Chinese folk dance, acrobatics, marital arts and more.
On January 26th and 27th, head to Downtown Monterey Park for a weekend full of festivities. There will be entertainment, food, vendors, family activities and more. There will also be plenty of live entertainment including live Chinese music, Kung-fu, folk dances and of course the Lion $ Dragon Dance parade to kick off the New Year Celebration. This is a FREE event and all are welcome. The event will be span 5 blocks in Monterey Park.
Saturday, February 9th, head to to Chinatown in Downtown LA for the 120th annual Gold Dragon Parade! This family friendly event now has over two dozen floats, includes marching bands and more. It’s a great way to celebrate the diversity of LA as well as the Chinese culture. This year, the parade will take place at 1pm.
